Low Trauma

Medical Applications

Low-trauma adhesives for easy application and gentle removal.

Pressure-sensitive adhesives engineered for sensitive skin — gentle adhesion, repositionability, and minimal trauma at removal.

Overview

Low-trauma pressure-sensitive adhesives are commonly used in stick-to-skin medical devices. Their benefits include gentle adhesion, ease of application, sensitive-skin compatibility, and repositionability.

DermaMed supports low-trauma adhesive applications across three populations in particular: wound-care patients who need reliable adhesion without irritation; neonatal and geriatric populations with fragile skin that needs specially formulated adhesives; and healthcare professionals who benefit from repositionable properties for electrode and sensor placement.

Design criteria

What the construction has to deliver.

Selecting an adhesive for this application means aligning chemistry, substrate, and performance with what the device actually does in use.

  • Gentle adhesion

Holds securely without aggressive bonding to fragile skin.

  • Removal trauma

Designed to minimize trauma when the construction is removed.

  • Repositionability

Repositionable on first application without losing performance.

  • Skin compatibility

Formulated for sensitive skin and compromised tissue.

  • Application

Easy to apply at the bedside or in the field.
